A poem a day keeps the doctor away

If you have time to chatter

Read Books

If you have time to read

Walk into mountain, desert and ocean

If you have time to walk

Sing songs and dance

If you have time to dance

Sit quietly, you Happy Lucky Idiot

~Nanao Sakaki

Stillness over Quinalt Lake, Washington.

Magical fading light dances over misty Lake Quinalt in Washington. (Elisa Weiss)

This poem was given to me by my grandmother who I respect immensely. She continually reminds me to be humbled by nature and to wisely use our time here on earth. This poem brings humor to the freedom we have to the explore the beauty of existence. For all my fellow Happy Lucky Idiots 🙂

  1. Love this poem! It speaks volumes to me that it all boils down to sweetness of doing nothing … Just being.
